Winter weather advisory issued

Beautiful weather this weekend, right?

I hope you enjoyed it because the start of the work week ahead seems like it won’t be as nice.

In fact, the National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for an area of Wisconsin that includes Kenosha County.

The advisory, which is triggered by the potential for travel difficulties, will start 3 p.m., Monday and end noon Tuesday.

The latest, local NWS forecast says we should expect rain and snow Monday after 5 p.m., with little or snow accumulation expected. It also will be windy, with 15 to 25 mph winds and gusts up to 40 mph.

Rain and snow and perhaps some freezing rain will continue Monday night before midnight. Then snow and freezing drizzle and maybe even thunder snow should take over. It will remain windy, with gusts to 35 mph. Ice accumulation of less than .1o of an inch and snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Snow and freezing drizzle is expected to continue into Tuesday with another inch of snow possible.
