First sizable snow of season expected Friday night

The first snow of the season worth plunging a ruler into is expected to fall Friday night.

The latest, local National Weather Service forecast calls for 1 to 2 inches of snow to accumulate between 7 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m., Saturday. The greatest chance of snow is between 10 p.m. Friday and 1 a.m. Saturday.

Today’s high temperature will be 31 and the low 22.

Relatively small chances of snow are in the more extended forecast for Sunday night, Monday, Monday night, Wednesday and Wednesday night.
