Twin Lakes’ 2017 village tree lighting took place Friday in Central Park next to the headquarters of the Twin Lakes Area Chamber & Business Association.
The festivities started out with holiday music from members of Westosha Baptist Church and New Life Bible Church. Boy Scout Troop 380 was selling refreshments. Here is some video of the singing:
Just before 5:30 p.m., Santa arrived. After mixing with the crowd for a while, he led the crowd in a countdown and village President Howard Skinner lit the tree. Here is some video of the lighting:
After the lighting, Santa rode on an antique Twin Lakes Fire Department truck to Trees on Parade and Holiday Shopping at St. John’s Church to visit with youngsters there about their holiday wishes. Here is video of Santa’s departure from downtown:
