At about 4:05 p.m., we are receiving reports of a crash at Highways 83 and C in Trevor.

From scanner transmissions sounds like there are two vehicles involved. Tow trucks being requested.

  2. Matt says:

@Jake- It happens when one person thinks they’re automatically entitled…or, someone is just not paying attention (i.e- updating your Facebook status while driving is far more important).

  3. IDIOTS? says:

@Jake, Ask the DOT they know the reasons and wanted to fix them at NO cost to you by the way BUT, the “I don’t like Roundabouts” crowd prevented that from happening. “Now, who are the IDIOTS”?

  4. Matt says:

@IDIOTS? – A roundabout at that particular intersection would have been a terrible idea! I mean, why not put a roundabout at Highway 50 & 83/75? Or, highway 50 & 45? Watch the traffic at that location. If people can’t figure out a turn arrow, and practice patience and attentiveness while driving, a roundabout would have only made that intersection even more congested.

  5. American tax payer says:

Studies have shown that roundabouts are safer than traditional stop sign or signal-controlled intersections. Roundabouts reduced injury crashes by 75 percent at intersections where stop signs or signals were previously used for traffic control, according to a study by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

drivers grumble that roundabouts are confusing and dangerous. But the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety says that modern roundabouts — which have proliferated in this country in recent years — are not only far safer than regular intersections, they are also more fuel efficient.

  6. Z says:

@IDIOTS? – Highway C doesn’t need anymore roundabouts. Numerous drivers already fail to navigate the ones at MB and H correctly. Every week I see drivers incorrectly entering the roundabouts, resulting in near misses, cutting off other drivers, and congesting traffic flow.

Just a few weeks back at the MB intersection, a car in front of me stopped at the yield, then entered the roundabout and came to a complete stop in the roundabout, effectively blocking traffic.

Roundabouts aren’t the answer. People need to be better drivers. Highway C is full of inattentive idiots.

  7. IDIOTS? says:

@ Jake, It’s really assuring to know that Matt & Z- are traffic experts who know more than educated, trained State employees who make up our Department Of Transportation and wanted to fix this intersection.

Who by the way, draw THEIR conclusions based on studies that produce FACTS (thanks, “American Taxpayer” for pointing that out) rather than idiotic objections arrived at by simply saying: Z-“Highway C doesn’t need anymore roundabouts” and Matt-“A roundabout at that particular intersection would have been a terrible idea”.

So Jake, in answer to your question-“HOW THE HELL DO THESE IDIOTS DO THIS????!!!!”

Do you think it possible, “THESE IDIOTS” crash into one another because of the non-factual “IDIOTIC” objections made be: Z, Matt and others who don’t like “Roundabouts” that prevented the DOT from trying to make this intersection “IDIOT PROOF”?
