Note: With the help of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, we will be telling our readers what work took place on the Highway 45 project in the week just past and what is expected to take place in the coming week. The state is now providing an update every two weeks. — DH

If you ever had a house built for you or were in charge of some other kind of construction project you know what the word punchlist means: You’re almost there.

Current operations on the Highway 45 project are concentrated on the stretch between 83rd Street and Highway 50 (75th Street). Operations are finalizing and the project team is looking to open the roadway to traffic by mid-November, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation says in its latest update.

What happened this week (Week of Oct. 30) — Began topsoil placement from WIS 50 to 83rd St. Continued restoration and sod. Continued seed/mulch at the select sites. Completed split rail fence installation. Completed sign installation. Punchlist work.

What’s expected to happen next week (Week of Nov. 6) — Continue sod placement from WIS 50 to 83rd St. Continue final restoration. Complete tree planting. Punchlist work.
