Highway 45 update Oct. 13, 2017: Concrete sidewalk and driveways, rumble strips

Note: With the help of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, we will be telling our readers what work took place on the Highway 45 project in the week just past and what is expected to take place in the coming week. The state is now providing an update every two weeks, instead of weekly. Check back Oct. 27 for the latest. — DH

What happened this week (Week of Oct. 9) — Began concrete sidewalk and driveways. Began pavement markings from WIS 50 to County C. Began sign installation from WIS 50 to 83rd St. Completed concrete pavement hand pours from WIS 50 to 83rd St. Continued grading for sidewalks from County 50 to 83rd St. Completed HMA rumble strips. Completed shoulder aggregate at County C, and from County C to 86th St. Completed concrete curb and gutter placement from WIS 50 to 83rd St.

What’s expected to happen next week (Week of Oct. 16) — To begin topsoil placement from WIS 50 to 83rd St. To begin tree planting. To begin seed/mulch at the select sites. To complete concrete sidewalk, steps, driveways. To complete pavement markings from WIS 50 to County C. To complete sign installation from WIS 50 to 83rd St. To complete HMA pavement from WIS 50 to 83rd St. To pull traffic control from County WG to 83rd St. to turn on signals at County WG and County C.
