Local students graduate among UW-Whitewater Spring 2017 graduating class

The following students with local ties received degrees this spring from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater:

Bristol — Benjamin Aker graduated with a Bachelor of Science in biology; Hannah Erickson graduated with an Associate of Arts in Associate of Arts;

Trevor — Grace Barrett graduated with a Bachelor of Science in geography; Kelsey Schwuchow graduated with a Bachelor of Science in environmental science.

Bassett — Daniel Cates graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education in physical education.

Twin Lakes — Michaela Efflandt graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology; Zachary Faber graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance; Adam Fitzgerald graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing; Katelyn Herreid graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in communication sciences and disorders. Brittany Moore graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in communication sciences and disorders. Kelsey Myers graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in general management. Timothy O’Dowd graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in general management.

Salem — Kevin Laroche graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology. Haley Sanchez graduated with an Associate of Arts in Associate of Arts. William Sullivan graduated with a Master of Professional Accountancy in accounting.

Wilmot — Danielle Torgerson graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in international studies.

Students celebrated their achievements with friends and families at the commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 13, held in UW-Whitewater’s Kachel Fieldhouse.

Students from the College of Business and Economics, the College of Letters and Sciences, the College of Education and Professional Studies, the College of Arts and Communication and the School of Graduate Studies earned degrees.

Students who graduated cum laude had a grade point average of 3.4 to 3.59. Magna cum laude students had a great point average of 3.6 – 3.84. Summa cum laude students had a grade point average of 3.85 and above.
