Randall School Student Council has organized two events to help raise money for Rockport Fulton Schools in Houston devastated by Hurricane Harvey.
Rockport Fulton schools in Aransas County, Texas were devastated by Hurricane Harvey. Rockport and Fulton were ground zero, and its five campuses have catastrophic damage. Buildings are missing, supplies gone. Many students, 65 percent of whom come from economically disadvantaged households, lost their homes. The whole community is working to restore power and help refugees, but for this storm, the damage was so immense that, as the saying goes, “it will take a village.”
The first event will take place on Friday, Sept. 15, a Pay-to-Play day. Students paid $1 to participate in Farmer Day.
Next up on Friday, Septe. 22, Randall will have their first dance. Theme: Fall Dance. This will be open to students in grades 6-8 who attend Randall, Lakewood, Wheatland, Riverview, Trevor-Wilmot and Brighton schools. Admission is $5, with $1 of that going to this relief fund.
