Highway 45 update Sept. 15, 2017: Signs installation completed between Highways WG and C, completed excavation and base aggregate placement, completed sidewalk from 83rd to 86th Street

Note: With the help of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, we will be telling our readers what work took place on the Highway 45 project in the week just past and what is expected to take place in the coming week. After today, the state will begin providing an update every two weeks, instead of weekly. Check back every Sept. 29 for the latest. — DH

What happened this week (Week of Sept. 11) — Began placing and compacting shoulder aggregate from County WG to County C. Began placing topsoil from 83rd to 86th Street. Began trimming base aggregate for concrete pavement from STH 50 to 83rd Street. Continued MSE wall installation between 82nd and 83rd Street. Continued final slope grading from County C, working to the north. Continued final landscape restoration as work progresses. Completed permanent sign installation from County WG to County C. Completed excavation and base aggregate placement for the project. Completed concrete sidewalk from 83rd to 86th Street.

What’s expected to happen next week (Week of Sept. 18) — Begin concrete pavement placement (NB lane) from WIS 50 to 83rd Street. Begin landscape restoration from 83rd to 86th Street. Continue topsoil placement from 83rd to 86th Street. Complete landscape restoration from County WG to County C. Complete MSE wall installation between 82nd and 83rd Street. Complete sign installation from County WG to County C.
