Aquanuts place fifth at 2017 Show Ski National Championships

The Aquanut Water Shows team of Twin Lakes competed at the 43rd Indmar Marine Engines Division 1 Show Ski National Championships, Saturday in Loves Park, IL. The Aquanuts placed fifth in the overall competition following, Sarasota (Sarasota, FL) Ski-A-Rees, Wonder Lake (Wonder Lakes, IL), Rock Aqua Jays (Janesville, WI) and Mad City (Madison, WI).

The Aquanuts wowed the crowd with two separate ballet lines 26 and 32 girls strong. The Aquanuts also created an end pyramid with 12 boys holding 18 girls, four tiers high.

The Aquanuts have four team members named to the Team USA. Swivel stars, Kendall Krieger and Grace Gurda, as well as, wake boarder/trick skier/jump star, Ethan Shulda and Kailey Koehler, barefoot champion. These individuals will compete at Show Ski Worlds in 2018.

This years show director, Eric Fauth, brought the audience back in time to the Nuts of Hazzard, a spoof centered around Daisy Duke, of the 1980’s hit television show the “Dukes of Hazzard”, with family appropriate humor and incredible water skiing. The Aquanuts have high flying jumpers, beautiful and graceful swivel and ballet ladies, trick skiers with intricate moves, fast boats and barefooting skiers all on the water within the hour long show.

The Aquanuts are a 501c3 charity organization with shows on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 6 p.m. from Memorial Day to Labor Day in Lance Park, Twin Lakes.
