Renee Gugel has been named the new associate principal at Wilmot Union High School.

Gugel will replace Tom Blair, who accepted a principal position earlier this summer.

From a district news release:

Wilmot Union High School is pleased to announce Dr. Renee Gugel as their new Associate Principal effective July 31, 2017. Dr. Gugel will replace Tom Blair who accepted a principal position earlier this summer. Dr. Gugel has a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and a Master’s Degree in both English and Educational Leadership. She received her doctorate in Educational Leadership from Concordia University. She has been working at Grayslake Central High School for the past 10 years; as a Dean of Students and most recently a Department Chair. Prior to that, Renee was a teacher at Grant Community High School and McHenry County College. “I learned very quickly that Wilmot is such a welcoming place to be and becoming part of the community is something that I’m looking forward to. I love that our school is small enough to be personal and provide those important connections, but big enough to provide so many amazing opportunities for everyone to be involved,” stated Dr. Renee Gugel. “Almost every time I tell someone that I will be coming to work here, I get a story about something positive they have experienced or heard about Wilmot High School. To me, that says a lot about the partnership between the school and the community and I’m proud to have been asked to be a part of that.”
