Highway 50 to re-open Tuesday

Many a commute through Kenosha County should be a little easier this evening.

The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department has announced that Highway 50 at the Fox River is expected to open by 3 p.m. Tuesday.

The closure of the divided state highway was perhaps the most obtrusive of the numerous highway closures caused by last week’s heavy rains and the resulting flooding.

UPDATE 2 p.m. — WisDOT says Highway 50 is now open.

The Countdown has started now to forgetfulness until the next big flood, or maybe the next little flood.

People will forget an the state is banking on people forgetting. Think about it. Because of someone’s decision to not build the bridge and the roadway over the KNOWN FLOOD STAGE Plus level and THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE and their time is affected. One arrogant, insolent, unprofessional decision and we pay the price.

As said in another comment, This is in your lap to fight for Samantha. Get the help from all your comrades and get the job done. Work on this the same as you worked on the Casino. Be visible and vocal and win this one.

Tick Tock … the people already forgot … all the money that was spent on DOG PARKS!!! But hey, why improve known infrastructure problems when you can build dog parks! Dogs just gotta have fun.
