Slow no wake has been declared for Lilly Lake by the Wheatland Town Board.
The board approved the order at a emergency meeting held Thursday afternoon. The resolution authorizing the order says it is prompted by “historical high water level due to recent rainfall.” The board has concerns that wake action from watercraft could cause lakefront property damage and that submerged piers present a safety issue.
Under slow no wake conditions, boat traffic is allowed, but speed must be kept to a level slow enough to not create a wake.
Signs will be posted at the public boat launch and the private launch at Lily Lake Resort.
