Shania Dumelle is 2017 Miss Bristol

Shania Dumelle was named the 2017 Miss Bristol at the Progress Days banquet Friday evening.

The naming of Miss Bristol is a traditional part of the banquet that kicks off the first day of the three-day community festival.

First runner up and Miss Congeniality was Haley Gorsuch, second runner up was Nina Scott and third runner up was Ashley Lura.

Dumelle, 18, will be starting college at University of Wisconsin-Parkside this fall, studying applied health science. She is a 2017 graduate of Central High School. She is a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Bristol, where she was an altar server for five years. At Central, she was involved in Mu Alpha Theta (Math Club) and National Honor Society. She played volleyball, basketball and was on the track team. She3 is currently in her seventh year of Bristol Recreational Softball. During her senior year, she earned a 4.0 for both semesters. She completed over 60 hours of community service, most of that at Helping Hands at Westosha Lakes Church.

“Becoming Miss Bristol will strengthen my love for giving back to the community,” Dumelle said. “Bristol is my home and I will be honored to represent this village.”
