Highway 45 update June 23, 2017: Base patches, culvert apron endwalls, common excavation

Note: With the help of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, we will be telling our readers what work took place on the Highway 45 project in the week just past and what is expected to take place in the coming week. Check back every Friday for the latest.

What happened this week (week of June 19) — Following successful paving operations, the full closure at the US 45 and County C Intersection was reopened to traffic the night of 6/21/17. Base patches were poured on US 45 from County C to 86th Street. Twin 72 inch culvert apron endwalls were installed. Common excavation was performed at the US 45 and County Q intersection.

What’s expected to happen next week (week of June 26) — Common excavation will continue for turn lanes and bypass lanes on US 45 between County Q and 196th Ave. Storm sewer installation will begin on US 45 between 86th and 83rd streets. Joint repair will begin on US 45 between County C and 86th Street.
