The 2017 graduating 8th grade class of Bristol School ended their service project for the Westosha Community Senior Center by presenting the group last week with a check for $852.19, the money the students have raised over this school year to help defray expenses at the center.

In addition, the students collectively put in over 100 hours of service at the center decorating for events and doing outdoor clean up.

The students held bake sales to raise funds to help with the purchase of accessible bookshelves for the center.

Check presenter Jake Gonzales called the seniors some of the “coolest” people he met this year. Jake participated in every service opportunity available at the center. Presenter Anna Thompson loved the experience so much so that when she won a raffle at the center’s Easter gathering, she gave the money back to the center.
