UPDATE: Trevor man injured in State Line crash

A Trevor man was injured in a crash on the Highway WG along the Wisconsin-Illinois state line Tuesday afternoon.

A 55-year-old man from Trevor was the driver of a car that left the roadway and struck a tree in the 17300 block of Highway WG in Bristol, a news release from the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department released Wednesday afternoon said.

The man was trapped in the vehicle and was freed by Bristol Fire and Rescue personnel, a news release from Bristol Fire and Rescue said. The man was transported to Froedtert Hospital by Flight for Life medical transport helicopter.

The cause of the crash at this time is unknown and is under investigation, the sheriff’s department said.

That crash was one of three incidents within nine hours in Kenosha County that required response from Flight for Life.

At 9:53 p.m. on Tuesday, deputies and Somers Fire and Rescue responded to the 500 block of Sheridan Road in Somers for a traffic incident involving a subject who had fallen out of a moving vehicle.  This incident is still under investigation.

At 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, deputies and Somers Fire and Rescue responded to the 1100 block of 88th Avenue for a crash with injuries.  A 2003 Mitsubishi was northbound on 88th Avenue lost control and entered the west ditch of the roadway east of Shoreland Lutheran High School.  The operator of the vehicle, a 28-year-old Racine man, was transported to St. Catherine’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  A passenger in the vehicle was seriously injured and transported to Froedert Hospital by Flight for Life.  This incident is still under investigation.
