Richard Bong State Recreation Area has announced the following Memorial Day programs:
Saturday, May 27
Discover Wisconsin Explorer. Kids, ages three and up, bring an adult to join this fun nature program. Learn how you can earn a colorful patch. Meet at the Amphitheater. 10-11 a.m.
Meet the Ranger. Visit with a park ranger, discover what their job is, what equipment they use and visit a squad car. Meet at the Amphitheater. 11-11:30a.m.
Toad-ally Cool. Learn about toads then take a short hike to look and listen for these cool amphibians. Optional: Make a toad house for $3 (cash or check only) to take home with you. Meet at the Visitor Center. 6:30-8 p.m.
Sunday, May 29
Eco-Scavenger Hunt. Drop in with the whole family any time before 9:45am to hunt for nature’s hidden surprises. Meet at the Amphitheater. 10-11 a.m.
Playing in the Park. Come play with us! Get a preview of the one-acre Nature Explore Classroom by exploring and playing at your own pace. Enjoy building, art, water, fort building, digging and other fun activities. Drop in anytime between 6 and 7:30 p.m. Meet at the Amphitheater. 6-8pm.
