Cub Scout Pack 328 will celebrate its final Pack night before heading into Summer break at the Salem Grade school at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, May 19.

Final Pack night is where the boys advance or crossover into their new ranks for the next year and begin the process of learning and working on new things needed for rank advancement for the following school year.

Also on this night, Pack 328 will say farewell to Cubmaster Ken Penge as he retires from the Pack where he has been since 2005.

About his retirement, Penge said:

‚ÄúServing as a Den leader for 3 dens in Pack 328, Cubmaster for 12 years, Activities Chairman on district committee for 7 years, and Scoutmaster of Troop 329 for the last 7 years and a host of other jobs has been along journey. Along the way I met met some great adults and kids that have truly enhanced my life. Over the years hundreds of family’s have passed though the Scouting program and I have been fortunate enough to meet them and become a small part of their sons lives as they have become a part of mine. To all of those that have worked with me over these past 12 years to help make our sons lives better by instilling in them the values and morals of what Scouting has to offer I say THANK YOU! I leave you all with a quote that I have used for many years from Forest E Witcraft: ‘A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove… but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child.‘”
