Fox River crests just under 12 feet

The Fox River crested at 11.67 feet as measured at the New Munster gauge at about 1 a.m. Wednesday.

The river is now receding and measured at 11.56 feet at 5:45 p.m.

The current forecast for the river calls for it to be back under flood stage of 11 feet by early Friday afternoon.

A flood warning remains in effect.

A crest of 11.67 would rank 13th on the National Weather Service’s list of historic crests at the New Munster gauge.
