Fox River exceeds flood stage

The Fox River as measured at the New Munster gauge has exceeded flood stage.

The river first was first measured over flood stage of 11 feet at 7:45 p.m., Monday evening, when it registered 11.01 feet. As of 4:45 a.m. Tuesday it measured at 11.36 feet.

The current forecast for the river calls for it to reach 12.51 feet in the very early hours of Thursday. The forecast says the Fox should be below flood stage again by Sunday evening.

A flood warning continues to be in effect.
