Flood watch issued

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for the Fox River in Western Kenosha County.

At at 6:15 a.m., Saturday the river was measuring 9.63 feet at the New Munster gauge. Flood stage is 11 feet.

The current forecast for the river calls for flood stage to be reached by Monday evening. A crest of 12.9 feet is forecast to be reached by very early Wednesday morning.

If the river reaches 12.9 feet it would be the highest crest since June 15, 2008, the Fox topped out at 15.18. The river has not exceeded June 2013.
