High wind watch issued; snow accumulation possible

WEATHER-ALERT-logo-all-3-webThe National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning for Thursday for an area that includes Western Kenosha County.

The warning period begins at 1 a.m., Thursday and extends to 4 p.m., Thursday.

During that period, winds of 25 to 40 mph with gust as high as 60 mph are expected.

Before we get there we may see some snow. There’s a 100 percent chance of precipitation Wednesday with it likely starting as rain and then maybe being mixed with snow after 9 a.m. Rain and snow showers should continue (80 percent chance) into Wednesday evening and night extend into Thursday. Less than 2.5 inches of snow accumulation is expected through that period.

If we do get some snow on the ground it’s not likely to last long. Temperatures are expected to be in the high 60s Sunday and Monday.
