Congrats to the Dissolver group. You sold out our village and All you have to show for it is………nothing. Now that Salem controls the board we won’t have a say on anything.

  2. Disappointed says:

Mistake not re-electing Faber …on the board for 14 years and only did good things for us. Truly cared for the town and the people living in it. Hope the others continue in the right direction.

  3. Citizen says:

Looks like the give away of our village is now complete.

  4. You know what ? says:

I don’t believe for one minute that just because the Salem supervisors are now Salem Lakes trustees that Silverlake will lose a voice. Salem owes Silver Lake a monumental debt of gratitude for allowing the consolidation to happen. This is not something that anyone in Salem takes lightly.

Silver Lake will get no more and no less than any other hamlet in the complete encompassing village of Salem Lakes.

Whether it’s roads, sidewalks, sewers or lakes, Salem has always been fair no matter if you lived in Lake Shangri-La or Wilmot.

What does make a difference though is showing up at meetings and voicing your opinion’s and request. You need to get on the agenda to get things done. I have no doubt that Silverlake will be well cared for for anything they ask for or need.

  5. Awesome Results says:

@Disappointed – Don’t be too disappointed, next year the remaining Silver Lake Village remnants will be up for election and Faber will slide right back onto the board where he belongs. None of those original board members should be on the board. The first thing they need to do now is get rid of the current members of the Police and Fire Commission, that was stacked by Nopenz, and put qualified individuals on that board that don’t spend most of their time at the bar.

We can all be glad that the days of cronyism, back door deals and secret meetings are now over! Not to mention the days of placing your family or drinking buddies in open positions in government.

I’m sure now the Salem Fire Chief and Public Works Supervisor are both breathing a sigh of relief! They just need to make sure the new board overhauls the backdoor created Police and Fire Commission and all will be well.

Once again, congratulations to all the NEW Salem Lake’s Trustees and Village President!

So a year ago certain people were told by silver lake board your job is gone I a year! NOW THEIR JOB IS GONE AND THOSE THREATEN ARE STILL WORKING. Bye felicia!

  7. Re: You Know What says:

You got it right. Every candidate that ran for office deserved to be elected. They all worked well together to make this new village work. Lots more work to be done also. No one will be left behind.

  8. Dan novotny says:

Bernard the salesman nice job stick to what’s best for you fabricating!

  9. to: You know what? says:

Sounds like you drank to much of the “Dissolver” Kool-Aid . Nopenz, Francart, Galich, Albrecht, and the rest of the good old boys were so busy patting themselves on the back for dissolving the Village, they forgot they had to win an election to stay in power! I do love it when people get what they have coming to them.

Sgt. punsley you reap the harvest that sew its not what you think you know it’s who you don’t know! Skate on

  11. Carol Husnick says:

I’m hoping for a great future for our new Village but one person was left behind that should have been a Trustee on the new Board. Dennis Faber has served proudly because he has been a lifelong resident of Silver Lake and Salem Township. He knows the area, knows the people because he was born and raised here. He will still be active I’m sure and his knowledge will be invaluable. Get that hip in shape Denny…you’ll have a good run next year!

  12. And now you know why says:

You naysayers and slanders are the very reason we joined with Salem Township. You people are truly uneducated, and uncivil. Shame on you. Sakem Lakes now has a balanced board, and all members are great choices. Grow up people!

  13. Balanced board you say? says:

The board will be balanced until next election, then it will be 100% Salem people and Silver Lake residents will be forgotten.
