Fox River receding; misses official flood stage

The Fox River just missed reaching official flood stage this weekend, reaching a crest of 10.96 feet in the early hours of Saturday morning. Flood stage is 11 feet at the New Munster gauge.

A flood warning issued by the National Weather Service has been cancelled. As of 1:15 p.m., the river was at 10.71 feet as measured at the New Munster gauge.

The current forecast calls for the river to be back under 10 feet by the very early hours of Tuesday morning.
