A flood watch has been issued by the National Weather Service for the Fox River as measured at the New Munster gauge.
The watch is set to be in effect from Friday evening to Tuesday.
The current forecast for the river calls for flood stage of 11 feet to be reached at about 7 p.m., Friday and peak at about 11.5 feet early Saturday afternoon. The river may be back under flood stage by Monday morning.
At 2:45 p.m., the river was measured at 8.91 feet.
