Deputies patrolling Western Kenosha County answer their share of animals on the loose and blocking roadways calls.

Most often the wandering beasts are cows, or sometimes horses. For awhile, there were some sheep on the highway calls. Everyone remembers when a group of bison got loose about a year ago.

Friday, deputies responded to something a little different: A report of a herd of pigs blocking Highway Q in Bristol. The report was received at about 3:40 p.m.

Among the traffic blocked for a time was a school bus.

But the obstruction was short lived. About 3:45 p.m., a deputy on the scene reported that the swine were no longer hogging the road and were headed back home.
