All Riverview School students in grades 4K-8 participated in a community building activity the morning of Dec. 22.

Prior to the activity, each homeroom created a classroom banner unique to their classroom. The morning began with all students cheering on each grade level as they paraded around the gym with their classroom banners. Homerooms were then paired up to complete a handprint activity. During the handprint activity, older students worked with younger students to trace and cut out their hands. The students then decorated their handprints with pictures that represented them. It was an opportunity for older students to engage and build rapport with younger students.

The community building day was developed by the Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports committee in hopes to bring all students together and build rapport and connections across all grade levels.
