Flood warning issued

WEATHER-ALERT-logo-all-3-webThe National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Fox River in Western Kenosha County.

The river  measured 10.4 feet at the New Munster gauge at 10 a.m., Friday. Flood stage is 11 feet.

The current forecast is for the river reaching flood stage noon Saturday. The river is forecast to reach a crest of 11.5 feet Sunday and remain at about that level until Tuesday morning, when it may start to recede. The river should be back under flood stage by Thursday.

Rain remains in the forecast for Friday, with lesser chances of rain and/of snow through Monday. Rain and snow is then likely again Wednesday.
