Deputies respond to 56 crashes Wednesday evening

The freezing rain and resulting slick road conditions kept sheriff’s deputies, other emergency workers and public works crews very busy Wednesday evening.

Here’s a roundup of activity from the Sheriff’s Department:

Last night, 01/11/2017 between 6:00 PM and 12:00 AM Kenosha County experienced a freezing rain/ice event. Our second shift patrol Deputies, along with Deputies and Detectives called in from all of the divisions of the Department including Sheriff Beth and Chief Deputy Levin, responded to the following traffic related calls:

  • 52 assist motorist calls
  • 50 property damage accidents
  • 3 injury accidents
  • 1 rollover accident
  • 2 hit and run accidents

The roadways were dangerous and slippery and we are thankful that none of the accidents involved life threatening injuries.
