Units responding to Camp Lake for water emergency

At abut 11:15 a.m., Town of Salem Fire/Rescue and Kenosha County Dive Team units and sheriff’s deputies are responding for a water emergency on Camp Lake.

Per dispatch: Two people have been reported as falling through ice on the lake in the vicinity of the boat launch at 277th Avenue and 112th Street.

UPDATE 11:18 a.m. — Dispatch reports that caller says both people are now out of the water. All units continuing to respond until it can be confirmed that everyone is out.

UPDATE 11:22 a.m. — Scene is now reported to be closer to 106th Street and 269th Avenue.

UPDATE 11:24 p.m. — Salem Fire/Rescue command calls off dive team response.

UPDATE 11:41 p.m. — Dispatch reports that one victim was an adult and one a child, but both are out of the water.

UPDATE 11:44 p.m. — Fire and rescue contact made with victims. Fire units returning to quarters.

    Make sure you send those folks who took a chance going on thin ice the bill for this response.

    I was fishing when I seen this happen yesterday it was so horrible as I was fishing with my kids. Felt so helpless could not do anything to help due to not being able to reach them of course. Could you please give me an update on the child he was probably only 5 or 6 years old. It was hard time sleeping last night. And for the comment from Matt if you seen this in person I’m sure you would not of commented like u did.
