A Wilmot house sustained significant damage from a fire Wednesday afternoon, a Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department media release says.
The house was unoccupied when the fire was reported at a little before 3 p.m. A pet was rescued from the house.

On December 28, 2016 Deputies and the Town of Randall Fire Department were dispatched to a home in the 11800 block of Fox River Road for a structure fire. Deputies arrived at the scene finding an active fire. They were able to determine that the house was unoccupied and that neighbors had rescued a dog from inside of the residence. Fire personnel from the Town of Randall, Village of Silver Lake, Town of Wheatland and the Village of Bristol responded to the scene. The fire caused significant damage to the home, an estimate of the damage is not available at this time. Initial reports indicate the cause of the fire is not suspicious. Traffic on Fox River Road was closed for approximately three hours as the fire suppression and investigation was conducted. The investigation is continuing.
