Warmer winter temperatures are expected to continue through Christmas and a little beyond, says the latest local National Weather Service forecast.
High temperatures Thursday through Monday should be in the mid to high 30s.
There’s a virtually certain forecast of snow Friday and Friday night, though the impact should be considerably less than the last few events. Accumulation of less than an inch is expected for both Friday and Friday night. Friday night , the snow is expected to transition to wintry mix and freezing drizzle.
The weekend seems to be the time for precipitation lately and Christmas weekend will be no exception. However, instead of snow this time it will be wetter stuff falling from the sky. Saturday looks to be dry, but rain, freezing rain and patchy fog are forecast for Christmas Day and rain and patchy fog Sunday night.
