A Trevor family is again holding a food drive to benefit The Sharing Center at their elaborately Christams decorated home.

The Batassa Family —  Randy, Julie, Dominick and Malinda — have their Musical Christmas light display up and running again this year. This is their 5th year of running a Christmas Light Show at 24712 118th St., Trevor.

They are currently displaying about 30,000 lights of various sizes and shapes, which are synchronized to music using a series of networked computer controllers. A combination of new LED efficient lights, and old style incandescent bulbs make up the display.

The music is a mixture of popular, modern and traditional Christmas selections, and is played right through your car radio on FM 106.9.

It is quite a project preparing for the display, as it takes the family the whole month of November to setup. Two solid days are dedicate to just extension cords and cables.

Each year the Batassa’s try to add new elements to the show. This year, they added some Rudolph, Cornelius and Bumble pieces to the static display. The computerized display has some new elements too.

The show is running now through Dec. 31.  The play list takes about 1 hour to hear and see all songs.

Hours are 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays, and through 11 p.m. on weekends and holidays.

As in years past, the Batassa family is collecting non-perishable food items for The Sharing Center in Trevor. All donated food items we collect are given directly to the center.
