The first snow of the season that is expected to accumulate is falling in Western Kenosha County as of about 8:40 a.m.
Flakes falling in Paddock Lake are pretty spaced out so far.
The National Weather Service forecast for the snow hasn’t changed much. Between 1 to 3 inches of accumulation are expected.
A winter weather advisory is also in effect. It calls for slightly more snow 2-4 inches or even 3-5 inches “inland.” The advisory is in effect from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sunday’s high is expected to reach 32. Monday and Tuesday’s high is expected to reach 38, so any snow on the ground may not last long.
UPDATE about 9 a.m. — Well that was short. No snow falling now.
UPDATE about 10 a.m. — Report from the road as I drove out to Wheatland: Real snow coming down now. More accumulation as I got farther west from Paddock Lake.
