UPDATE: One person seriously injured in Salem crash

Two people were injured in a crash on Highway K in Salem Monday afternoon, a sheriff’s department spokesman confirms.

The crash occurred in the 21900 block of 60th Street (Highway K).

From a KCSD news release:

Deputies were dispatched at 12:22 p.m. to the 21900 block of 60th Street (County Trunk Highway K) for a roll-over crash. On arrival Deputies located two occupants of the vehicle involved; one had been ejected from the vehicle and suffered very serious injuries.  The other occupant was also injured. Preliminary investigation indicates that the vehicle was westbound on County Highway K and for reasons unknown at this time left the roadway rolling over. County Highway K is closed between US 45 and County Highway EW at this time (about 2:30 p.m.) while the crash is investigated. We are asking motorists to avoid the area.

Town of Salem Fire/Rescue and Bristol Fire and Rescue units also responded to the scene.
