Salem Business Park welcomed its first tenant Thursday with a ceremony that included representatives from Salem and Kenosha County, Kenosha Area Business Alliance, Milwaukee 7 and Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch.

Vonco Products, a packaging company, based in Lake Villa will occupy 10 acres of the 66 usable acres of the business park. Wetlands occupy the remaining 18 acres.

The park is located on land just east of the Salem Highway/Fire Building along Highway C in Trevor.

The 80,500 square foot building Vonco will occupy is under construction. They will lease it with an option to buy. The facility is expected to employ 86 people and open in June 2017.
