At about 8:55 a.m., Town of Salem Fire/Rescue, Town of Wheatland Fire Department and Silver Lake Rescue Squad units are responding to a report of smoke in a house on Wisconsin Avenue in Silver Lake.
Per dispatch: A caller reports smoke coming from a washing machine in a residence.
UPDATE 9 a.m. — Fire unit arriving on scene reports no signs of smoke or fire from exterior.
UPDATE 9:05 a.m. — A deputy on scene reports that smoke was from a malfunctioning part on the washer. No fire in the house.
UPDATE 9:08 a.m. — Fire command releases Wheatland FD units from responding.
