Units responding for vehicle fire in New Munster

At about 7:55 a.m., Town of Wheatland Fire Department and Twin Lakes Rescue units and sheriff’s deputies are responding to the 6500 block of 352nd Avenue in New Munster for a vehicle fire.

UPDATE about 7:58 a.m. — Deputy on scene reports vehicle is a pick-up truck and it is fully engulfed in flames.

UPDATE 8:05 a.m. — Randall Fire Department units also responding.

UPDATE 8:08 a.m. — Randall engine being returned to quarters by Wheatland FD command.

UPDATE about 8:30 a.m. — Sheriff’s Department statement says truck was occupied. Update here.

    Anything new on an ID?

    The owner of Snips in New Munster told me the following:
    The occupant of the pickup was an employee of Best Bargains and work in the meat dept(?). Paul? He had a history of heart problems also.
