Old Settlers Oktoberfest took place Saturday at Old Settlers County Park in Paddock Lake.

This was the sixth year for the event.

The morning was rainy, but seemingly right on cue the weather cleared just as the fest got started at noon. Admission was free and those attending could enjoy German music and dancing, food and beer. There also were Dachshund races, a car show, children’s activities and fireworks at the end of the evening.

The raffle held in conjunction with the fest is raising money for a bandshell at the park. Old Settlers Oktoberfest Inc. (a non-profit organization)  announced that $24,000 has been raised for this project (not including this year’s fest).
