Highway C in Trevor to be closed for culvert related to dam

A detour will be in effect starting Monday for a section of Highway C in Trevor.

Work crews are expected to be working on a stretch of the highway near 286th Avenue for about five days, said a news release from the county.

Here is the whole news release:

The Kenosha County Department of Public Works announces scheduled work to replace a culvert pipe across County Trunk Highway “C” along the south end of Camp Lake in the Town of Salem. The work site is located on CTH “C”, 0.2 miles east of 286th Avenue. The culvert pipe is a component of the Camp Lake Dam which was originally installed in 1961. The steel culvert pipe is in extremely deteriorated condition and will be replaced with a Polymer Coated Steel Pipe which has an indefinite life span. The project is scheduled to begin at 6:00 AM on Monday August 22, 2016 and take approximately five days to complete. CTH “C” at the project site will be impassable to vehicles and require a detour route. For detouring purposes, CTH “C” will be closed between County Trunk Highway “B” and State Trunk Highway 83 for the duration of the project. Access will be provided to all side roads, residences, businesses and farms. A posted detour route utilizing County Trunk Highway “B”, County Trunk Highway “AH”, County Trunk Highway “SA” and State Trunk Highway 83 will be in place.”
