The Stage Stop restaurant in Wilmot has announced via Facebook and its website that it is closing as of Friday.
The local institution — know for its grilled meat and the stick of butter served on its baked potatoes — had billed itself as the longest continuously owned and operated tap and dining establishment in Wisconsin. That legacy dated back 168 years.
