Excessive heat warning issued for Thursday & Friday

WEATHER-ALERT-logo-all-3-webThe National Weather Service is more certain now that it should get very hot around here in coming days. They have now stepped up to an excessive heat warning for an area of Wisconsin that includes Kenosha County, starting at noon Thursday and continuing to 7 p.m. Friday.

High temperatures are expected to reach 94 Thursday and 91 Friday. Heat index readings could be as high as 106 Thursday and just under 100 Friday.

The warning message issued at 3:49 p.m. says there is some doubt about excessive heat extending into Friday:

THERE IS SOME UNCERTAINTY ABOUT WHETHER FRIDAY WILL REACH WARNING
AND ADVISORY CRITERIA…DUE TO THE POTENTIAL FOR THUNDERSTORMS
THAT COULD COOL THINGS DOWN A BIT. BUT…CONFIDENCE IN THAT
SCENARIO IS TOO LOW…AND THEREFORE WE WILL KEEP THE WARNING AND
ADVISORY INTO FRIDAY EVENING.”
