Herman and Virginia Gundlach Scholarships recipients announced

The Board of Directors of the Kenosha Community Foundation announced that eight Kenosha County high school seniors are the 2016 recipients of the Herman and Virginia Gundlach Scholarships:

  • Angel Spencer from Westosha Central High School plans to attend UW-Milwaukee.
  • Tanika Johnson from Westosha Central High School plans to attend UW-Platteville.
  • Mackenzie Bailey from Wilmot Union High School plans to attend UW-Stevens Point.
  • Jennifer Fasnacht from Wilmot Union High School plans to attend Carroll College.
  • Allona SanDiego from Bradford High School plans to attend University of Wisconsin (UW)-Whitewater.
  • Valencia Tolefree-Campbell from Indian Trail Academy plans to attend UW-Oshkosh.
  • Kyle Schmitt from Indian Trail Academy plans to attend Gateway Technical College.
  • Rebecca Jones from Tremper High School plans to attend UW-Stevens Point.

This is the first time students from Wilmot Union High School received Gundlach Scholarships.

To receive the $3,000 scholarship Gundlach Scholarship, students must attend a college or university in Wisconsin. Nineteen students from Kenosha County’s eight public high schools applied for the scholarship.

Since 2007, the Kenosha Community Foundation has awarded 94 Gundlach scholarships, totaling over $142,000 to Kenosha County students.
