County paving project in Twin Lakes to begin soon

A county paving project is set to start soon on some well-traveled roads in Twin Lakes.

Village administrator Jennifer Frederick shared the following info from Gary Sipsma, county director of Division of Highways and Highway Commissioner:

Kenosha County has an asphalt paving project scheduled on S. Lake Avenue from Main Street to Wilmot Avenue and on Wilmot Avenue from S. Lake Avenue to East Lakeshore Drive.  The project involves milling off two-inches of the existing asphalt surface and replacing it with two-inches of new asphalt.  We will be painting a new centerline on the roads when the asphalt work is completed. It will be impossible to complete the project with vehicles parked on the roads.  Therefore, during the project, parking will not be allowed on the roads within the project limits.  We will be putting up temporary no-parking signs with dates indicating the days that parking will be restricted.  We intend to keep the roads open, but there will be lane restrictions during operations.  Temporary short term closures may occur if required. The project is currently scheduled for 7/27, 7/28, 7/29, 8/1, 8/2, 8/3, 8/4, and 8/5.  The schedule may be modified for a number of unexpected occurrence’s such as weather.
