The Twin Lakes-based Aquanuts show water skiing team placed third in a very competitive field of teams from around Wisconsin and Illinois on Saturday, June 25 in Janesville. This tournament is the opening of the 2016 competitive show skiing season.

This year, the Aquanuts are celebrating 44 years of show skiing excellence with the show theme “Ski or Sink”, crafted by show directors, Justin Mushel and Holly Heeter. The show has human pyramids, barefooting, trick skiing, wake boarding, swivel and ballet acts. Along with strong team acts, this year’s many outstanding performances are attributed to the team’s individuals. Ariana Koehler, Kailey Koehler, and Collin Barber showcase their barefooting talent again as a center piece of the show. Former 2014 National champion Kendall Krieger and Kaila Coffey, who placed 2nd in the US last year, anchor the high scoring Aquanut swivel act. The Aquanut Ballet ladies are off to another amazing year, 26 girls strong. The Aquanut men are tearing it up on the show course: Collin Barber, Jarrett Breber, Ethan Shulda, Mike Pierce, Brandon Kirchens, and Brett Buntrock display their athletic abilities in jump, wake boarding, trick skiing and shoe skiing.

Shows are Wednesdays and Saturdays at 6 pm in Lance Park in Twin Lakes through Labor Day.
