A crowd gathered with law enforcement of Kenosha County on a cool and very foggy midday at the Kenosha Public Safety Monument last Wednesday. They were there to remember the law enforcement officers who had died serving the people of Kenosha and Kenosha County.

Roses were placed on the memorial in remembrance for each law enforcement officer who died in the line of duty.

Last year there were 128 law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty nationwide. There were 27 law enforcement K9s that died the line of duty in 2015. This year, there have been 35 line of duty deaths. The number of deaths caused by felonious gunfire is more than double during the same time last year.
