Longtime Aquanut water ski team member Brian Schaufel took one last ride through Twin Lakes in the most appropriate way possible.

Schaufel’s funeral was held Saturday in Twin Lakes; an Aquanut Water Shows ski boat on a trailer was used to carry Schaufel’s casket from Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home in Twin Lakes to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church for Schaufel’s funeral and then to Prairie Mound Cemetery after a stop at the Lance Park, the site of the team’s summer shows.

Schaufel, 56, died May 1, 2016.

From Schaufel’s obituary:

Brian “the Shark” Schaufel was a 26 year member of the Aquanuts Water Skiers. He was a legendary boat driver and drove the triple rig and was known for his legendary “tail walk” ending at the end of every show. He was involved in every aspect of the team from Skier, Show Director, President and Advisor. He was a Champion Boat Driver.
