Kenosha County should be a somewhat less hazardous place after the response to Saturday’s household hazardous waste collection event at the Kenosha County Center at Highways 45 and 50 in Bristol.

Reader Kelly Mickelsen shared this photo of part of the line waiting to get into the County Center. At one point, Mickelsen said, the line extended east down Highway 50 and then north on Highway D.

Another source reported waiting in line for about an hour.

The free event is organized by Kenosha County.

  1. Bob says:

The long line clearly signifies this should be done many more times each year, possibly on a week night in addition to the Saturday morning.

  2. Jack says:

We were unable to drop off our waste before they shut down. I hope another drop is scheduled soon. Many cars were turned away.

  3. Matt says:

This is definitely something they should do alot more often! People can only store hazardous material for so long before they eventually need to get rid of it, and I would hate to see someone get rid of it illegally because there just is no ace to get rid of it. It’s a great program though!
