The Wilmot Union High School Key Club is rising to the occasion again to try to raise money in order to continue its goal of providing service and assistance to the community.

A new effort the club is trying is through an organization called “Funds2org”. Funds2org is a group that collects gently-used shoes so they can be put to better use in third world/developing nations. Based on the number of shoes and their weight, the club will make make $.40 per pound. The shoes are sent to other nations in need where they are used as business tools and donations. The Key Club, in turn, is hoping to raise $1,000.

The Wilmot Key Club is asking for any donations of gently-used shoes to help with this fundraiser. Almost any shoes are OK (the only kinds of shoes not suitable for donations are ice skates and roller blades). Shoes such as high heels, flip flops, cleats, dress shoes, tennis shoes, and boots are all acceptable and much appreciated. All sizes are needed as well.

There will be drop-off locations located around the school. Look for the blue pools… Below is a list of the following locations:

  • Outside the Main Office (South side of the building).
  • Next to the water fountains by the district office (East side of the building).
  • Inside the doors closest to the student parking lot (North East side of the building).
